Come and look at our world from just inside the Main Gates. Open Monday to Saturday 9am - 4pm.
Weekday Tours
These tours are available at 11am from May to September on Thursdays and Fridays. No need to book, simply turn up and wait in the archway for your guide! Visitors are able to see the COMMON HALL, originally used as a sitting and dining area by the residents, the CHAPEL, with its superb stained glass windows and, when the weather is fine, a visit to the top of the Gatehouse. Tours last about 45 minutes.
£3 per person, under 16s free of charge
Group Tours
These must be booked in advance but can be arranged Monday to Saturday at any time during the year. Group Tours can be tailored to particular interests and offer an opportunity to see areas of the Hospital not available during Weekday Tours or Open Days. These tours can include the Monmouth Room which features a newly assembled exhibition about the Hospital - please note that access to this room is by steep spiral staircase. Schools Visits
We are delighted to welcome schools to Abbot's Hospital and have tours suitable for pupils of different ages. Please contact Marion Peters, the Deputy Master, at or on 01483 569207 to discuss your requirements. No charge is normally made for educational visits.
Open Days and Special Events
Several times a year we run special events and activities. These often involve special 17th century guests and current residents. For further information see News/Events.
